All posts 31 Jan 2024

Welcome to our first Village update of 2024

With a new year comes a number of new and exciting projects, launches and products on the horizon for Village Media.

Let’s dive in!

Village moves 💫

Welcome

We welcomed the following team members to our Village over the last few weeks:

PelhamToday reporter Sarah Ferguson
HaltonHillsToday reporter Herb Garbutt
BurlingtonToday reporter Laura Broadley
FlamboroughToday reporter Cara Nickerson

In other team news,we are pleased to announce that former BurlingtonToday editor Brenda Jefferies will be leading the editorial team at our newest site as FlamboroughToday’s editor.

Taking over as editor of BurlingtonToday is former BurlingtonToday reporter Julie Slack.

Congratulations and good luck in your new roles 👏

Welcome our newest site: FlamboroughToday.com 💻

FlamboroughToday.com

Editorial is busy working on stories, sales is connecting with local businesses, design is creating our brand roll-out and the platform team is building the new site so we are set for a February 6, 2024 launch of Village Media’s newest site: FlamboroughToday.com.

The site will provide news to the Flamborough region, which recently lost its long-time community newspaper, The Flamborough Review.

We will be celebrating the launch on February 6 with a coffee shop event, hosted at Copper Kettle Cafe in Waterdown. Community members are invited to join us for a morning beverage, on us, while meeting the team and sharing what they would like to see from our news site in the future.

PelhamToday turns one 🥳

Pelhamtoday.ca. Your community. Your news.

PelhamToday is celebrating its first anniversary as part of the Village network.

Over the last year, the PelhamToday team, guided by Editor Dave Burket, has shared stories of triumph, tragedy and inspiration. The team has done an incredible job highlighting local businesses, covering community events and delivering the news that matters most to the Pelham community.

Congratulations on your first Village milestone, PelhamToday!

Pawesome Villager of the month 🐾

Lucy, a doodle, with snow on her face

Meet Lucy! 🐾

Lucy is a rescue who used to be fearful of everything - even going for a walk around the block. But now she’s a friendly regular at Village HQ and has made many two-legged and four-legged friends at the office.

Her favourite thing to do is go for adventures in the snow and her guilty pleasure is garbage straight from the can (as captured on office CCTV).

Until February ...
