At the core is Villager, our purpose-built platform for local news and community publishing.
Villager supports multi-site publishing, audience engagement, newsletters, advertising, commerce, community contribution tools, local data, user management and community interaction at scale.
The platform was not designed in theory. It was built through years of serving the real-world needs of local publishers, journalists, readers, advertisers, sales teams and the communities they support.
Village Media's homegrown, locally-focused community interest platform, SPACES, is deeply integrated with Villager.
SPACES is where neighbours can discover what's happening locally, connect through shared interests and participate in community life.

Open Door
Open Door is one of the first major projects within Village Media’s Community Operating System.
Powered by artificial intelligence and grounded in trusted local information, Open Door helps residents find the services, programs and organizations they need simply by asking questions in plain language.
By connecting people to a curated network of local resources, Open Door makes it easier to navigate community support, especially during moments when knowing where to start can feel overwhelming.
Open Door doesn't replace community organizations, emergency services, professional support or human care. It helps residents discover, understand and access existing support more quickly, making local services easier to find when they matter most.
Village Media is developing locally grounded AI tools that help residents navigate services, understand community issues, discover opportunities and participate more meaningfully in local life.
But technology alone doesn't strengthen communities. People do.
