Village Media Bulletin: July update

All posts 11 Jul 2022

Our first newsletter of the summer is packed with updates from the last month on live events, awards, new team members and more.

What's new?

Welcome to the team!

June saw a number of new team members join our Village, including:

TimminsToday reporter Jinsh Rayaroth
Central news desk reporter Kyle Pura
HalifaxToday subject matter expert Youjeen Cho

Welcome and congratulations!

Live events are back!

We celebrated another successful launch in June with HaltonHillsToday.ca. The official launch event took place in Georgetown with members of our HaltonHillsToday editorial and sales teams in attendance, alongside community leaders from Georgetown and Acton.

June also marked our longest-running live event with SooToday’s 20th-anniversary city-wide treasure hunt. Hundreds of participants joined in the scavenger hunt to find SooToday branded containers full of cash at local landmarks across the city. The community had a blast participating and it was an adventure for all of the staff who helped pull it off!

A special thanks to Drew, Riley and Sheridan for their weeks of work on this unique event.

Guelph CBAs

GuelphToday’s Community Builders Awards reception was a well-received celebration of the deserving award recipients. Winners, sponsors and judges came together to honour the winners with a luncheon at Sugo on Surrey.

Did you hear? 📣 We won!

It’s an honour for everyone’s ongoing hard work to be recognized by our hometown Chamber. Congratulations, team!
